Stephanie J. Cork

Stephanie is a graduate student pursuing her PhD in the department of Kinesiology at the University of Maryland. She is also a member of Totus, the spoken word experience. It is through Totus that she first engaged with spoken word and learned a lot about the potential applications of her traditional poetic work. As a brand new poetess she looks to continue to navigate her own identity through this work including both static and dynamics pieces. She is also involved with disability awareness and advocacy initiatives across campus. Overall she is interested in social justice and inclusion, as well as arts-based research methods that can enrich our understandings of embodied difference.
